VAN WERT, Ohio - Ethel V. "Aunt Ethel" Miller, 97, Van Wert, died at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at Van Wert Manor Nursing Home, Van Wert.

She was born July 29, 1913, in Van Wert, to the late Vera (Parks) Tindall and Robert E. Tindall. Her husband, Corwin R. Miller, died Jan. 24, 1981.

Survivors include a son: James Robert (Beverly) Miller of Lancaster, Calif.; her grandchildren: Michelle (James) Young and Sandy Sanberg; great-grandchildren: Bobbie Buetow, Brian Joscak, Kristy Sanberg, Karrie Felton, Kevin and Amy Young; great-great-grandchildren: Coltin Kiesz, Alex Young, Lily Young; niece and nephew: Sherrill Emerick and Larry Bryan, and several great nieces and nephews. Of great assistance and pleasure in her later years were Sherrill Emerick and her family: Londa (Jerry) Kraft and their children: Makenzie and Shiann. Two neighbors, Stan and Sherry Lippi, have been especially helpful throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by a daughter: Norma Jean Miller; one brother: Donald E. Tindall; two sisters: Edyth M. Holtsberry and Sara Louise Bryan; a niece: Sara Creed, and three nephews: Brent Bryan, Rodger Holtsberry and Edwin J. Holtsberry.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Van Wert, worked as a salesperson at the former John Earl Department Store in Van Wert, and was a past member of the Ladies Aid group of the Church.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 28 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Paul Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday, June 27 at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is Trinity United Methodist Church.
