Eugene Vann

Retired 1st. Sgt. Eugene Kent Vann, 55, of Fountain, Colorado, and formerly of Rockford, Ohio, passed away in Pueblo, Colorado on Friday, October 25, 2013. He was born on September 9, 1958, in Celina, Ohio, the son of Fred and Gloria Vann. He was a member of Parkway High School's class of 1977. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1999, after 22 years of military service. He was awarded numerous awards and decorations throughout his military career. Upon retirement, Kent began a second career as Systems Engineer and was employed with Intelligent Software Solutions where he spent time in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is survived by his parents, Fred and Gloria Vann of Rockford; his wife Sharon of Fountain, CO.; two sons, Christopher Vann, Atlanta, Georgia, and Bryon Vann, Fountain, CO; two daughters, Holly (Lane) Faust, Fountain, CO; and Danielle (Clayton) Johnson, Fountain, CO., Ohio; a brother, Mike Vann, Rockford, Ohio; and three sisters: Pamela Wells, Columbus, Ohio; Donna (Carey) Huston, Celina, Ohio, and Cheryl (Steve) Hambley, Brunswick, Ohio. Six grandchildren also survive: Rose Vann, Alexander Toth, William Vann, and Zoie, Kaylee, and Paisley Johnson.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John Vann Sr., Ethel Vann, and Clarence and Dorothy Emerson.
