F. Imogene (Doner) Hughes, 83, of Van Wert, died at 2:05 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at Dupont Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

She was born June 14, 1932, in Van Wert, to the late Anna (Passwater) Doner and Harley Doner.

Her husband, L. Richard "Dick" Hughes, died Dec. 28, 2006. They were married June 15, 1952.

Survivors include children, Deborah L. (Dr. Carlis) White of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Kevin Hughes of Van Wert, a grandchild, Lindsey (Brent) Rathgeb, and great-grandchildren, Adam and Charlotte Rathgeb.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Doner.

She retired as a home healthcare nurse with the Van Wert Area Visiting Nurses. She was a member of Jennings Road Church of Christ, Van Wert. A 1950 graduate of Van Wert High School, she was a member of former Van Wert Woman's Club, a former Girl Scout volunteer, and an auxiliary member of Golden Years Homestead Village in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She had been named a Van Wert Peony Festival "Flower in Full Bloom" and had recently been honored by the Van Wert Area Visiting Nurses for 40 years of service. She had served as the fourth and fifth grade Sunday School teacher and organist at the former First Church of Christ in Van Wert and was a long time Senior Adult Sunday School teacher at Jennings Road Church of Christ.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert. Dr. Carlis White and Marcia Wise will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point, Ohio.

Visitation is 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is Van Wert Area Visiting Nurses.
