Forest "Woody" Dale Roebuck, 80, of Rockford, Ohio passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 10:45 PM with his loving family surrounding him. Woody was born on April 21, 1934 to Reverend Garrison and Jocie (Archer) Roebuck in Defiance, Ohio. Woody has been a resident of the Rockford area since he was in the 8th grade. He graduated from Rockford High School in the Class of 1952. He married Marlene Provci on June 5, 1954 and she survives. Woody worked for the Eaton Company of Van Wert for a total of 38 years. Woody was a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church. Over the years, he held many offices and served on the Pastor-Parish Committee. He was also a member of the Shanes Crossing Historical Society. Woody was an avid Parkway sports fan. He was a little league coach and a member of the Parkway Booster Club. But he loved mostly rooting on his Great-Granddaughter and Great-Grandson in all of their activities. Woody was a constant supporter of his family that he loved so dearly. Surviving, with his wife Marlene, is one son: Greg (Wendy) Roebuck, Lima, Ohio; and two daughters: Terri (Rex) Piper and Sherri (Bing) Scheidt, both of Rockford, Ohio. Also surviving are 3 Grandchildren: Amber Slusher, Justin Roebuck and Andy Scheidt; 1 Step-Granddaughter: Kristen Crouch and 2 Great-Grandchildren: Alyx Slusher and Cade Slusher. Preceding Woody in death were 3 brothers: Lee Roebuck, Lamar Roebuck and Virgil (Pete) Roebuck along with 2 sisters: Lucille Douce and Lois Abrahm and 1 Step-Grandson: Cody Dick. Services will be held at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, Ohio on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 11:30 AM with Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Rockford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, January 11 from 2:00 until 7:00 PM. They may also visit one hour prior to the service on Monday. Memorials may be directed to the Parkway Booster Club in honor of Woody.
