Freda Culler

Freda B. Culler, 80, of Van Wert, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at 8:42 PM on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at the Toledo Hospital.

Born on November 08, 1939 in, Converse, the daughter of the late Mathew M. Burnett and Catherine Jane (Logan) Burnett. On July 25, 1964, she married Dr. Fred I. Culler, who survives in Van Wert. Together, they shared 55 years of memories.

Freda was a graduate of Spencerville High School and received her Masters in Education from Bowling Green State University.

Freda was a lifelong teacher who taught in Toledo and Van Wert. She devoted her life to developing young minds through education.

Freda was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Van Wert

Freda enjoyed her extended family, traveling, and playing bridge. She was a voracious reader who strongly supported the Brumback Library.

She is also survived by two children, Dr. Amy Culler of Toledo & Ben (Chris) Culler of Fremont, Indiana; and her grandchildren, Quin Mary Jane Culler, Christopher Ira Culler, Jack Culler and Nathan Culler.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Jane Culler; brothers, William Burnett, Elmer Burnett, & Matthew Max Burnett; and a sister, Ruth Mosier.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at First United Methodist Church, Van Wert with Rev. Chris Farmer, officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Wright Cemetery, Venedocia, Ohio.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until service time on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Freda`s memory may be directed to the Mary Jane Culler Scholarship Fund through the Van Wert County Foundation or to the Brumback Library.
