Gail Packer

Gail Marie (Leiter) Packer, 54, of rural Van Wert, died at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
She was born March 4, 1962, in Van Wert, to Marilyn Janelle (Mihm) and Richard Lee Leiter. Both survive in Van Wert.
Her husband, David Eugene Packer, survives at their home near Van Wert. They were married Oct. 12, 2002.
Other survivors include her sister, Joyce (Steve) Bittner of rural Decatur, Indiana, and her brother, Gary (Molly) Leiter of rural Newbury, Ohio.
She was employed at Central Mutual Insurance Company in Van Wert for 37 years and she also taught piano lessons. For many years she taught Sunday school class to the youth at Antioch Chapel Friends and played piano until the meeting closed. She was presently attending church and playing piano at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert.
Funeral service will start at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert with Father Stan Szybka officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, at the funeral home.
