Gail Lou Pifer, 69, of Elkhart, Indiana, formerly of Rockford, Ohio, died on Monday, March 2, 2020, at 4:00 p.m., at the Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, Indiana. She was born on October 2, 1950, in Newport News, Virginia, the daughter of William Henry and Dorothy Arlene (Burris) Pifer, both who preceded in death. Gail graduated from Parkway High School, Rockford, Ohio, in the Class of 1968. She enrolled in the Lima School of Cosmetology, where she obtained her Ohio license and worked in the area. She moved to Elkhart, Indiana, 25 years ago, where she worked at the Bayer Pharmaceutical Company.
Gail loved traveling and going to concerts, and did just that until her health began to fail. She was a huge fan of "The Rolling Stones", and went to every one of their concerts that she could possibly attend. She also enjoyed just relaxing and visiting with her family…she adored her two little granddaughters, Nora and Stella, and would spend time with them whenever she could.
Surviving is Gail's companion of 24 years, David Sites of Elkhart, Indiana; 4 sons: Tom Millisor of Celina, Ohio, Matthew Millisor of St. Marys, Ohio, Shane Sites and Rocky (Nongkhan) Sites, both of Elkhart, Indiana; two sisters: Barbara (Mike) Pedroza and Cindy Huston, both of Celina, Ohio; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at 2:00 p.m., at the Rockford United Methodist Church in Rockford, with Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. A luncheon at the church will follow the service. Burial will take place at a later date, at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the church, prior to the service, from Noon-2:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to The Cancer Association of Mercer County, Celina, Ohio.
