Gale Shawyer

Gale Austin Shawyer passed away peacefully at home, Dec 20, 2022. He was a loving devoted husband to his late wife, and a generous father and Pawpaw. He graduated from High School in Williamsport, MD in 1957. Starting his career with the McCrory Department Store in 1957. He was a regional manager for K-Mart in the 1960s and 1970s. He married Roseann McLean July 9, 1978. He was a very hard worker and had spent much of his adult years in management and food service, Enjoyed his time involved with the boy scouts, and was an Indiana University fan. He was proceeded in death by his father, Julian Shawyer, his mother Jane Cunningham, wife Roseann Hawkins Shawyer, and daughter, Tiffany Amanda Shawyer. He is survived by son Todd Shawyer (Chanel Crouse), brothers Greg Shawyer of Hagerstown MD, Chis Shawyer of Pensacola FL, Jan Shawyer of Washington state, 4 step daughters Tamara (Brent) Goode, Terri Waschezyn, Traci (Mark) Hewitt, Tonya (Ralph) Copley, and 7 grandchildren, Nicholas Waschezyn, Gabrielle Hewitt, Alexander Davis, Benjamin Hewitt, Matthew Waschezyn, Adam Davis, and Ariel Shawyer. A celebration of life to be determined at a later date.
