Gale Yoh, 87, of Haviland, passed away at 9:14 PM on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born October 7, 1931, in Scott, to the late Edith (McClure) and Joshua Yoh, Sr.
On June 1, 1951, Gale married the love of his life, Shirley E. Adkins. He went on to serve his nation with in the United States Army in Korea during the Korean War until its end in 1953.
Gale worked as a tractor mechanic, and later at HWI Warehouse in Fort Wayne. He also worked at the Paulding County Engineer’s office driving a county truck. After his retirement from the county, Gale operated his dry-cleaning business in Paulding.
He is survived by his daughter: Sharon (Don Jr.) Sinn of Defiance; grandchildren: Katie (Chris) Hearn of Mason; Betsy Sinn of Chicago; Angie & Casey Hull of Montpelier; Jesse (Nikki) Hull of Paulding; great-grandchildren: Kendall, Maclin, Preston, Molly, Sophie, Julia and Jesse Hull.
In addition to his parents, Gale was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Cheryl Hull; brothers: John, R. Bruce, Joshua Jr. "Sonny", George and Dale Yoh, and sisters: Elsie Nolan, Goldie Painter, Emma Marcum and Clara Kershner.
Services will be held at 12:00 PM Monday, January 21, 2019 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, Ohio. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Haviland. Friends may call prior to the service, from 10 to noon at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Wreaths across America.
