Gertrude E. Bush, 95, of Van Wert, formerly of Monroeville, Indiana, died at 10:39 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, at Van Wert County Emergency Room.
She was born Aug. 31, 1921, in Ossian, Indiana, to Ines (Margardt) Gressley and Merle Gressley. Her parents are deceased.
Survivors include a son, Tom “Corky” (Joanna M.) Bush of Monroeville, Indiana; grandchildren, Mark (Melissa Boyd) Dempsey, Marshall (Trena) Dempsey and Mitchel (Mary) Dempsey, Tim (Jamie) Bush, Ann (Ray) Higgins, five great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marjorie A. “Cricket” Dempsey, a brother, Norman “Pink” Gressley, and a
sister, Marjorie Myers.
She was formerly an LPN at Decatur Clinic and at several nursing homes and was a Girl Scout leader for many years. She attended St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Monroeville.
Service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Monroeville. Visitation is 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017 at the church.
Preferred memorial is CHP Visiting Nurses and Adult Day Care in Van Wert or to the Adult Activates at Van Wert Manor.
