Gilda F. Trobridge, 67, of Van Wert, formerly of Fort Recovery and Celina, Ohio, died at 1:55 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2016, at her residence. She was born Nov. 3, 1948, in Floyd County Kentucky, to Edna (Bailey) Dennis and Gillis Dennis. Both parents preceded her in death.
She married Ted Trobridge on Oct. 11, 1996. He preceded her in death Jan. 31, 2011.
Survivors include one child, Vincent (Lee) Brummette of Van Wert; stepchildren, Jeff Trobridge of Union City, Ohio, Kimberly Sheppard of Greenville, Ohio, and Connie (Kris) Steinbrecher of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers, Kenny (Tammy) Dennis and Gary Howard, both of Celina; a brother-in-law, Rex (Rona) Trobridge of Costa Mesa, California; sisters, Carol (Gail) Zizelman and Mona (Larry) Shinberry, both of Celina; grandchildren, Cassey (Brent) Odenweller of Van Wert, Jacob (Sarah) Krick and Kevanna (Mike) Wagoner, both of Rockford, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Brummette, and a brother: Kernal Howard.
She was a homemaker and factory worker with Huffy in Celina. She was an avid collector of Cherished Teddy's. She loved to crochet and adored her dogs.
Service will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2016, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert. Pastor Ron Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Visitation is 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2016, at the funeral home.
