Glenn Gehres

CONVOY, Ohio - Glenn D. Gehres, 54, of Convoy, died at 9:37 p.m. Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born May 24, 1959, in Van Wert, Ohio, to the late Alice I. (Baxter) Gehres and W. Edgar Gehres.
His wife, Michelle "Chelle" (Kever) Gehres, survives of Convoy. They were married June 28, 1980.
Other survivors include children: Justin (Amanda) Gehres of Green, Ohio, Jared (Angela) Gehres of Powell, Ohio, and Courtney Gehres of Convoy, Ohio, a sister: Deborah (Thomas) Schaffner of Van Wert, and three grandchildren: Ryan, Parker and Gavin Gehres.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Edgar Gehres, who died in infancy.
He worked as a material handler at Eaton Corporation in Van Wert. He was a member and trustee of Convoy United Methodist Church, Convoy. Glenn had a passion for the outdoors. Whether it was tending to his yard and garden, deer hunting, fishing in his pond or bird hunting with his dog, Duke, he was most comfortable in "the woods" - unless of course he was playing ball with his grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Convoy United Methodist Church, Convoy. The Rev. Greg Leigh will officiate. Burial will be in Convoy I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Convoy. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Preferred memorial is Convoy United Methodist Church.
