Gloria Ruddock

Gloria Jean Ruddock, 81, of Van Wert, died at 2:13 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2015, at Lima Memorial Hospital.She was born July 23, 1933, in Lima, the daughter of Palmer M. and Alice (Rhode) George, who both preceded her in death. She married John B. Ruddock, who survives in Van Wert.
Other survivors include two sons, John C. Ruddock of Findlay and David G. (Karen) Ruddock of Powell; and three grandchildren, Meagan Ruddock, Alyssa Ruddock and Braeden Ruddock.
Gloria was retired as the superintendent's secretary for Van Wert City Schools. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert, a member of the Phoebe Group, treasurer for the Women's Team Ministry and held many other positions at the church. She was a former president of the YWCA of Van Wert County, was an escort for trips and served on several committees. She was also a member of the former Van Wert Woman's Club, Van Wert Red Hats, Beta Sigma Phi sorority and a Girls' State sponsor. Gloria was a lover of all animals!
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Venedocia Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
