Helen Hasis

Helen Janice Hasis, 92, formerly of the Rockford area, passed away at 7:14 PM on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Briarwood Village in Coldwater, Ohio. She was born in Blackcreek Township, Mercer County on August 29, 1922 to Heber A. and Hattie (Morrison) Martz. She married Glenn Eugene Hasis and he preceded her in death on May 16, 1986. Helen was a life-long resident of Mercer County where she farmed the majority of her life with her husband. She graduated from Rockford High School. Helen worked at Heckler-Martz Cabinets and was the Mercer County Clerk of Courts and a secretary for the Rockford High School. Helen was also a member of the Mercer County Farm Bureau. Surviving are two sons: Gary (Elizabeth) Hasis and Terry (Shirley) Hasis. Helen had four grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. One brother: Carl Martz is deceased. Services for Helen will be at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM and 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday. Memorials may be made in Helen's honor to the American Heart Association.
