Helen Joan McDonough, 75, of Rockford, Ohio, passed away suddenly Monday morning, February 28, 2011, at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert. She was born June 8, 1935, in Rockford, Ohio to Russell and Voyla (Rickard) Fleming. On January 19, 1957, she married James McDonough, and he survives in Rockford. Helen was a secretary at the Mercer County ASCS, where she retired, and also worked as a teller at Society Bank, in Rockford, retiring from there also. She was a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church, a member of the Rockford Red Hat Society, and also had volunteered at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford. She had lived her entire life in this area, and graduated from Rockford High School in 1953. Surviving in addition to her husband, James, are two children: Cathy (Ed) Richard of Minster, Ohio and Larry (Tammy) McDonough of Rockford; 4 grandchildren: Jackie, Jenni, and Katie Richard of Minster, and Tommy McDonough of Rockford. One brother, Harold Fleming of Van Wert, Ohio and one sister, Opal Post of Coldwater also survive. Deceased is one sister, Mary Marsee, one sister-in-law, Catherine Fleming, and one brother-in-law, Urban Post. ' Services will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at 10:00 am at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford. Officiating will be Pastor Chip Steffy and Rev. Ray Daniels. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 2-8 pm and on Thursday, one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
