Herman W. Germann, 79, of Convoy, died at 5:05 p.m. Monday, November 16, 2015, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Convoy.
He was born December 31, 1935, in Harrison Township, Van Wert County, the son of Fredric and Mildred (Germann) Germann, who both preceded him in death. On October 26, 1957, he married Mary L. (Linn) Germann, who survives in Convoy.
Other survivors include three children, Michael (Deb) Germann of Van Wert, James (Shawn) Germann of Ohio City, and Julie (Chris) LaRue of Convoy; three brothers, Alfred (Carol) Germann, Gerald (Dorothy) Germann, and Clifford (Theresa) Germann; three sisters, Lora (Larry) Brothers, Hannah (James) Jerome, and Donna (Herb) Gerken; and six grandchildren, Brian Germann, Eric (Laura) Germann, Brooke LaRue, Matthew LaRue, Katie Germann, and Curtis (Christina) Germann.
A brother, Edwin Germann, preceded him in death.
Mr. Germann worked at B.F. Goodrich in Woodburn, Indiana, for 36A½ years. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Convoy. He was a member of the B.F. Goodrich Retirees. He attended auctions and traveled with the Van Wert YWCA trips. He was active on his church softball team as a player and a coach and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, November 19, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Pastor Mike Saylor officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy. Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, at Gearhart & Jurczyk Funeral Home in Convoy, and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
