VAN WERT, Ohio a�" Hilda Grace (Medaugh) Morris, 87, of Van Wert, died at 5:47 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born Oct. 7, 1926, in Spencerville, Ohio, to the late Hazel (Herring) Medaugh and John Glen Medaugh.
Her husband, David Wayne Morris, died Nov. 1, 2006. They were married July 21, 1946.
Survivors include children: Timothy Wayne (Lois) Morris of Silver Spring, Maryland, Kimberly (Dana) Gehres of Adrian, Michigan, Stephanie (Paul) Callaro of Malvern, Pennsylvania; daughter in-law: Linda Lininger Morris of Van Wert; brother: Rev. John Medaugh of Spencerville, Ohio; sister: Patricia (Carl) Zimmerman of Sidney, Ohio; grandchildren: Michal Morris, Adam (Julie) Morris, David (Jamie) Morris, Paul Morris, Meredith Gehres, Allison Gehres, Hannah Gehres, Austin Callaro, Madison Callaro, and Devon Callaro, and great-grandchildren: Jackson, Zachary and Olivia Morris.
She was preceded in death by a son: David Gregory Morris, and sisters: Martha Rose Medaugh, Joan Hutson and Jane Gerard.
She was a homemaker and during WWII had worked in the office at the Lima Tank Depot. She was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church, Venedocia, Ohio, where she had held many different offices. She was a graduate of Spencerville High School, a former member of Van Wert YWCA, Psi Iota Psi social sorority in Van Wert, a life member of Spencerville VFW Post 6772 Auxiliary, and a member of Van Wert American Legion Post 178 Auxiliary.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, at Salem Presbyterian Church, Venedocia. The Rev. Tom Emery will officiate. Private family burial will be held at Venedocia Cemetery, Venedocia.
Visitation is 2-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, at the church.
Preferred memorial is Salem Presbyterian Church.
