Hildred Cooper

Hildred Bell Cooper, 94, of Van Wert, died at 6:02 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Van Wert Hospital, Van Wert.

She was born May 24, 1918, in Jackson Township, Van Wert County, to the late La Dell (Morris) Snyder and Delbert Snyder.

Her husband, Dale E. Cooper, is deceased. They were married July 31, 1938.

Survivors include her children: Delbert Dwight Cooper of Lawrence, Kansas, Dianne (Dale) Foltz and Roy (Betty) Cooper, both of Van Wert, Ohio; a brother: Glen (Janet) Snyder of Mooresville, N.C.; grandchildren: Denny Cooper, Anthony (Annette) Cooper, Amber (Brent) Gibson, Anessia (Kirk) Dougal, Rachelle (Derek) Mitchener, Raquel (Dale) Carver, Christoper (Jeanne) Joseph, Scott Joseph; great-grandchildren: Dalton & Trevor Cooper, Jordan & Tyler Gibson; Kegan, Morgan, Breann & Lauren Dougal; Jacob & Jordan Mitchener; Chase Moecki; Ella Carver; Leslie & Doug Hicks; Justin Cooper; Anthony (Lindsey) Cooper; Nathan (Charli) Cooper, and a great-great-grandson: Jaxon Cooper.

She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Marybelle Cooper, two brothers: Ralph and Dewayne Snyder, and her sisters: Opal McCoy, Nondus Ray and Nelia Summersett.

She was a homemaker and helped her husband, Dale, farm for many years. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Van Wert. She was also a member of the Van Wert County Farm Bureau, Ridge Homemakers and United Methodist Women, she volunteered for many years with Van Wert County 4-H, Coachman Camper Club. She dearly loved her family and horses, enjoyed hosting many parties in the family woods, and was the Salutatorian of the Hoaglin-Jackson Class of 1936.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Greg Wack will officiate. Burial will be held at Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point, Ohio. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is Bethel United Methodist.
