J. Eleanore Hattery,96, Van Wert, Ohio died at 2:37 p.m.p.m.P.M. Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice.
She was born August 20, 1918 in Venedocia, Ohio to John Albert and Chloe (Wright) Williams, both deceased.
On September 7, 1940 she married Kenneth E. Myers, and he preceded her in death on July 30, 1965. Then on October 18,
1969 she married Carl Hattery and he survives of Van Wert, Ohio.
She is survived by a son: David E. (Rosewitha) Myers of Van Wert, Ohio; five grandchildren: Jerald (Kathy) Myers; Kenneth (Barbara) Myers; Robert Myers; Edward (Tonia) Myers and David (Pepper) Myers, Jr.; eleven great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
She retired in 1983 as a sales clerk from J.C. Penney in Van Wert, Ohio after 34 years of service. She was also a former member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority; and she enjoyed square dancing and traveling with the Y.W.C.A.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, Ohio. Rev. Paul Miller will officiate. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert, Ohio.
Visitation will be 2-4and 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2014 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, Ohio.
Preferred memorials are to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
