James Jones

James B. Jones, 78, of Middle Point, died at 4:43 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice. He was born April 25, 1938, in Van Wert, to the late Laura (Christen) Jones and James Marvin Jones.
Survivors include children, Laura Doss of Van Wert, Ohio, and Jenifer Jones of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and a sister, Alice Northrup of Van Wert.
He was a retired contract negotiator in the computer industry. After retirement, he was a substitute teacher and helped students with obtaining their G.E.D. He was a veteran of the Ohio Army National Guard, a member of Van Wert Elks, and a former member of the Masonic Lodge. He played football for Coach Gil Smith at Van Wert High School and Coach Woody Hayes at The Ohio State University before receiving his Bachelor Degree from Defiance College.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
