James Thompson Jr

James Houston Thompson Jr, 53, of Convoy passed away at on June 08, 2020 at Paulding County Hospital. He was born on May 13, 1967, in Van Wert, to the late James H. and Nancy Thompson Sr.

James attended Crestview High School and was a graduate of Vantage Career Center where he was active in FFA and 4-H. He worked at Thunderbird Products in Decatur and then Zoller Pistons before moving on to Federal Mogul.

James enjoyed working on classic cars, especially Mustangs. He was a foodie and loved to travel and cruise around trying different foods. James especially loved pizza and would travel great lengths to try new restaurants.

He was an animal enthusiast with a love of horses and dogs which was a trait he got from his mother.

James is survived by his sons: Bradley Thompson of Paulding; Michael Thompson of Defiance; Cody Thompson of Paulding; daughter, Kristina (Chris) Varner of Defiance; brother, Shawn (Jodi) Thompson of Convoy as well as a grandson, Liam Thompson. He is also survived by his neices Cassie Thompson, and Chelsi Young, and nephews Colt Thompson, Coda Thompson, and Copper Thompson.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his a brother, James Thompson.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 from 1pm to 5pm at Smiley Park 1425 Leeson Ave, Van Wert, Ohio 45891
