VAN WERT, Ohio - Jeffrey D. Smith, 52, of Van Wert, died at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born Aug. 22, 1958, in Celina, Ohio, to Pat (Harden) Smith and Dean Smith of Convoy, Ohio. His wife, Beverly (Crawford) Smith, survives in Van Wert. They were married March 28, 1991.
Other survivors include his children: Justin (Janine) Klutka of Louisville, Ky., Ashley (Jarred) Sawyer of Van Wert, Jordan (Jennifer) Klutka of Sterling, Va., Kimberley (fiancAC.: Bryan Cox) Smith of Rossford, Ohio, and Mackenzie Smith of Van Wert, Ohio; his brothers: Roger (Shelly) Smith and Dana (Bobbie) Smith, both of Van Wert; a sister: Shelley (Marty) Early of Liberty Center, Ind., and three grandchildren: Joseph and Aaron Sawyer, and Harper Polsinelli.
He worked at Federal Mogul in Van Wert and attended First Baptist Church, Van Wert.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 11 at First Baptist Church, Van Wert. The Rev. Steve Robinson will officiate. Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Thursday, March 10 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert.
