Jerry D. Goins, Sr

Jerry D. Goins, Sr, 84, of Haviland, died at 3:35pm on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born September 22, 1939, in Arcanum, Ohio, to Gladstone N. "Jack" and Mercedes (Hosbrook) Goins. On June 11, 1961, he married Judy E. (Hines) Goins, she preceded him in death on February 8, 2004. Then, on August 11, 2005, he married Carolyn L. (Baker) Goins, she to preceded him in death on February 22, 2017.

Jerry was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Korean War.

Jerry retired from Uniroyal Goodrich, in Woodburn, Indiana, after 33 years of service.

He was a member of the Paulding Eagles and Woodburn, Indiana V.F.W.

He is survived by his children, Jerry D. Goins, Jr, of Scott, Joseph L. Goins of St Marys, Glenda (Daniel) Adkins of Haviland, Cameran (Connie) Goins of Paulding and Christi (Jason Dotterer) Dias of Haviland; and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Jack and Mercedes, and his spouses, Judy and Carolyn, Jerry was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey L. Goins; daughters, Shelly and Julia Goins; grandsons, William Goins and Tyler Goins; a great grandchild, Bentley Goins; brothers, Jim, Steve and Jack Goins; and sisters, Kay Mason and Roxanne Hosbrook.

Funeral services will be at 10:30am on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, with Rev. Stuart Wyatt, officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point, Ohio.

Visitation will be from 2:00-7:00pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jerry's memory may be directed to the donor's choice.
