GROVER HILL, Ohio - Jerry Thompson, 70, of Grover Hill, died at 2:55 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital, Toledo, Ohio.
He was born July 11, 1941, in Van Wert County, Ohio, to the late Antha Rose (McClure) Thompson and Mahlon E. Thompson. His stepmother, Helen (Sink) Thompson, also is deceased. His wife, Vivian (Veach) Thompson, survives of Grover Hill. They were married Dec. 8, 1962.
Other survivors include his children: Holly (Dan) Edwards and Missy (Chris) Williams, both of Grover Hill, and Darren (Dodi) Thompson of Defiance, Ohio; brothers: Vic (Ellen) Thompson of Sun City, Fla., and George (Sue) Noggle and Eddie (Ruth) Noggle, both of Van Wert, Ohio; sisters: Scheryl Reidenbach of Lima, Ohio, Shelbyan (Larry) Tribolet of Middle Point, Ohio, and Gayle Noggle of Van Wert, and his grandchildren: Danielle (Joe) Greco, Scott Edwards, Taylor, Logan and Arin Williams and Mitchell, Spencer and Elizabeth Thompson.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Randy Thompson.
He retired from Kennedy Manufacturing Company, Van Wert. He attended Roselm Christian Church and had formerly attended Zion Christian Union.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory. The Revs. Paul Miller and Mark McKay will officiate. Burial will be in Middle Creek Cemetery, Grover Hill.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29 at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Van Wert Salvation Army Food Pantry.
