VAN WERT, Ohio a�" Joan (Gamble) Amstutz, 82, of Van Wert, passed away on Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born Nov. 12, 1931, in Van Wert, to Bernell and Geraldine (Swartz) Gamble, who preceded her in death.
On Aug. 17, 1950, she was united in marriage to Richard Gene Amstutz, who passed away March 3, 2002.
She is survived by three sons, Gregory (Michelle) Amstutz of Van Wert, Michael R. Amstutz of Fort Jennings, and Terry L. Amstutz of Van Wert; seven grandchildren: Joshua (Andrea) Amstutz, Eric Amstutz, Angela (Frank) Browning, Melissa (Adam) Weber, Matt (Amanda) Amstutz, David (Kari) Amstutz, Ashley Amstutz; 12 great-grandchildren: Ethan Amstutz, Marrisa Amstutz, Ema Amstutz, Eva Amstutz, Eliza Amstutz, Alexis Browning, Abigail Browning, Aubrie Browning, Beth Browning, Zach (Morgan) Browning, Jonavan Weber, Olivia Amstutz, and three great-great-grandchildren: Kameron Browning, Khloe Browning and Benjamin Browning.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Jane C. Gamble.
She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and a 1949 graduate of Shawnee High School, Lima, Ohio.
She worked for the Nichols Bread Company, Lima, and Gospel Gift Store in Van Wert. She was a tour escort for the Van Wert YWCA, tour director for the Toledo, Ohio AAA. She was member of the American Red Cross, TWIG II, Harrison Research Club and Genealogy Club.
She was active in the Boy and Cub Scout Program and a member of the Psi Iota Sorority.
Funeral services will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church, Van Wert, Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at 10:30 a.m.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, Black Swamp Area Council Boy Scouts of America, or the Van Wert Area Hospice Inpatient Center.
