Joan Anderson

Joan L. Anderson, 87, died at 9:27 p.m Nov. 22, 2013, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Care Center.She was born July 12, 1926, in Napanee, Ind., to Donald Forest and Edith M. Reed Tobias, who preceded her in death.Mrs. Anderson retired from Teleflex Corp. in 1996 after 29 years of service. She had also worked for her father's bakery, Dainty Pastry, and later at Butler's Bakery in Van Wert.Survivors include three children, Nancy J. Dias, of Van Wert, Donald F. Anderson, of Cornelius, N.C., and Deborah Ann (Bill) Larimore, of Lima; a sister, Marilyn (Don) Donley, of Van Wert; and 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carlyle Tobias and one who died in infancy; a twin sister, June Wable, and another sister who died in infancy; and a granddaughter.Services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert. The Rev. Steve Savage will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center or S.I.D.S.
