Joan Gunsett

Joan L. (Sowers) Gunsett, 91, of Convoy died Monday morning, June 20, 2016, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 3, 1924, to Homer and Beulah (Harper) Sowers, both preceded her in death.
She married John Gunsett on July 21, 1946. He died Feb. 25, 1997.
Joan is survived by sons, Gary Gunsett of Convoy and Craig Gunsett of Van Wert; a daughter-in-law, Susan Gunsett of Convoy; brother, Denny (Betty) Sowers of Columbia City, Indiana; sister, Betty Love of Monroeville, Indiana; and grandchildren, Kelly (Chad) Marks and Lindsay (Jon) Kreischer.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jack Gunsett; brothers, George, Don, Jack and James Sowers; sister, Judy Nowak; and grandchildren, Josh (Valerie) Gunsett and Derek Gunsett.
Joan retired from Continental Can Company in Van Wert after 42 years of service.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Convoy and was a graduate of Convoy High School.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Gearhart-Jurczyk Funeral Home, Convoy. The service will follow at noon.
Burial will take place at Convoy I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to Convoy EMS or Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
