Joan M. Hall, 85, of Rockford, Ohio, has gone home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 30, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She was born in 1932 in Mansfield, Ohio, to Franklin and Edith (McAfee) Miller. On July 8, 1950, she married Homer J. Hall who survives in Rockford. Also surviving are two daughters, Deborah Hartman of McKinney, Texas, and Brenda Hall of Scottsdale, Arizona, and a son Kim and his wife, Linda, Hall of Florissant, Colorado. Also surviving is a grandson, Ryan and his wife Courtney Hartman, a great-grandson, Blake Matthew Hartman, and a great-grand daughter, Charleigh Quinn Hartman, all of Prosper, Texas. Also surviving is a brother, Thomas (Karen) Miller of Kalida, Ohio; and two sisters, Marjorie Green of Bethesda, Ohio and Betty Cowhick of Sullivan, Ohio. Deceased is one brother, Ronald Miller.
Joan retired from the U.S. Postal Service—Rockford office-- after 27 years of service with the last 9 years as postmaster. She was a member of the Rockford U.M. Church and the United Methodist Women’s Society; a member of the Rockford Chamber of Commerce and was Citizen of the Year in 1986; and a member of the Shane’s Crossing Historical Society.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, Ohio, with Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at ketchamripley.com.
