Joan Sterrett

Joan F. Sterrett, 76, of Van Wert, OH, passed away at 5:20 AM on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice. She was born October 19, 1939 in Van Wert, Ohio to the late Parley C. and Rhea (Piper) Sterrett.
She is survived by a brother, Gary Sterrett, Florissant, Missouri; sister, Yvonne Hill, Fairfield, OH; brother-in-law, James Brian of Sidney, OH; and several nieces, nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by brothers: John & Robert Sterrett; sister, Sandra Brian and great nephew, Jacob Brian.
Joan worked for many years in the payroll department at Teleflex, formerly of Van Wert. She was active in many different ministries at Jennings Road Church of Christ, where she was a member. She also volunteered for Help Me Grow, Early Childhood Development and the Pregnancy Life Center in Van Wert, and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye and Cincinnati Reds Fan.
Calling hours will be from 4-7PM Thursday October 13, 2016 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory and from 10-11AM Friday, October 14,2016 at Jennings Rd. Church of Christ, Van Wert, OH. Funeral services will be at 11AM Friday October 14,2016 at the Jennings Rd. Church of Christ
