Jody L. McClure

Jody L. McClure, 55, of Van Wert, passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning, March 09, 2019, at Van Wert Health Emergency Room. He was born January 31, 1964, in Van Wert to Carl J. and Rose M. (Voltz) McClure.
After graduating in 1982 from Crestview High School, Jody attended Ohio State-Lima Campus. He was currently employed at Greif Brothers. He married the love of his life, Suzi L. Rase, on August 20, 1994. Together they attended St Paul's Reformed Church.
Jody served as a member of the Birdville Cooners of Wren, the Wren Ballpark Association, and he served as a former commissioner of Wrenway Park Whiffleball Warehouse. He coached little league baseball in Wren for over 20 years and one year at Convoy. Jody also coached junior high basketball at Lincolnview for 3 years.
He enjoyed time at the lake, fishing, pheasant, and bird hunting. As a family man, Jody loved spending time with his granddaughters and watching them grow.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Suzi McClure; daughters Morgan McClure and Nicole McClure; granddaughters Ava and Addison, all of Van Wert; mother, Rose McClure of Van Wert; brothers William "Bill" (Brenda) McClure of Haviland; Jay McClure; Rick (Lynn) McClure; Mike (Karen) McClure, all of Van Wert; Dave (Pam) Bowen of Convoy; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at St. Paul's Reformed Church with Rev. Chad Strabbing officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church, 6077 German Church Road, Ohio City.          .
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the family for the continued care of Jody's granddaughters, Ava and Addie.
