John Harris

John Richard Harris, 76, of Rockford, Ohio, died at 9:56 a.m., Friday morning, May 31st, 2013, at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert, Ohio. He was born on February 25, 1937 in Paulding County, Ohio, the son of Walter and Marvel (Scott) Harris. In 1967, he married Mary Ann Michael, and she preceded in death on January 2, 2009.
He had lived the past 46 years in Rockford, and had been employed at New Idea, Coldwater, Ohio. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are two brothers, Doyle F. (Jane) Harris of Van Wert, Ohio and Terry L. (Jill) Harris, Haviland Ohio. Also surviving is John"s companion, Kathy Sill of Rockford. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Deceased are two brothers, Don Harris and Gordan "Gordie" Harris, and one sister, Mary Lou.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 4th, 2013 at noon at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina, Ohio. Military graveside services will be held by the Celina V.F.W. Friends may call at the funeral home the day of the service from 10:00 a.m. up until the time of the service.
