John E. Lugabihl, 56, of Rockford, Ohio, died at 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at the Van Wert In-Patient Hospice, where he had been a patient for a short time. He was born on December 13, 1961, in Celina, Ohio, the son of James E. and Carol (Hites) Lugabihl, who survive in Elida, Ohio. John graduated from Parkway High School in 1980, and worked as a supervisor in shipping and receiving at the Fremont Company in Rockford, Ohio, since August 15, 1983. He had lived in the area all his life and was a member of the Rockford Shanes Aerie F.O.E. # 1292, where he was a trustee for many years, and a member of the Rockford Sons of the Legion, Glenn D. Eckhart, Post # 508. John loved fishing, camping, and being on his motorcycle. He was a very outdoors guy; he was happiest when he was on a bike ride. John was very involved with the Fox Family Ride for Autism and helped organize the Fox Benefit. Everything was about his grandson, Eddie—he loved just spending time with him—that was the best!
Surviving in addition to his parents, Jim and Carol are his daughter, Jessica (Charles) Sendelbach of Celina, Ohio; his grandson, Eddie Sendelbach, a brother, Steven E. Lugabihl of Fort Wayne, Indiana, a sister, Joy E. (Charles) Everhardt of Kingston, Georgia, and several nieces and nephews.
A Life Celebration will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Shanes Aerie #1292 in Rockford at noon on Sunday, May 20, 2018. Condolences may be expressed at ketchamripley.com
