John Adam Stutz, a lifelong farmer from Venedocia, passed away at Van Wert Health Emergency Room on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. He was born on March 5, 1927, in Ohio City, to the late Henry William and Grace Adeline (Magotto) Stutz. John married the love of his life, Helen Marjorie Ringwald, on March 22, 1945. She preceded him in death January 29, 2009.
John loved hunting and fishing in his free time. He cherished his family above all else, especially his grandchildren. He was always supportive of them and attended their extracurricular activities and sporting events at Lincolnview and Delphos Jefferson.
John is survived by his sons: John Larry (Linda) Stutz of Van Wert and Tom L. (Christine) Stutz of Delphos, and daughter, Margie J. (Cindy) Stutz of Utah. He is also survived by sister, Judy (Jerry) Lewis, grandchildren: Suzi (Chris) Semer of Middle Point, Barbara (Ken) Myers of Middle Point, T. Cody (Lindsay) Stutz of Loveland, Brandi (Terry) Trentman of Delphos, Rebecca (Mike) Fackler of Van Wert, eleven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren with one more on the way.
In addition to his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by his son, Sammy L. Stutz, brothers: Bill, Bob and Danny Stutz, and sisters Gertrude Topp, Edna Creel, Margaret Miller, Betty Shertzer, Ruth Ann Topp and Pearl Mason.
Friends may call to pay their respects during visitation hours from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 21st at the Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory located at 722 S Washington St., Van Wert Ohio 45891. The funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation hours starting at 2:00 pm with interment to follow at King Cemetery in Middle Point.
John A. Stutz will be greatly missed by all who knew him. May his spirit rest in eternal peace.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John`s memory may be sent to Lincolnview or Delphos Jefferson Athelic Departments.
