VAN WERT, Ohio - Joy L. Thomas, 53, of Van Wert, died Friday evening, Feb. 24, 2012, at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, Ind.
She was born Feb. 19, 1959, in Van Wert, to Carole J. (DuCheney) Long and Ronald D. Long. Both survive of Middle Point. Her husband, Dave Thomas, survives of Van Wert.
Other survivors include her children: Kyle M. (fiancAC. Cindy O'Neill) Aulby of Secor, Ill., and Sheena L. (Steve) Wenzel of Toledo, Ohio, a sister: Kim D. (Kent) Hughes of Middle Point, Ohio, and two grandchildren, Lain and Patrick of Secor, Ill.
She was the office manager at the Middle Point Home Telephone Company in Middle Point for 10 years, a member of First United Methodist Church Choir and served on the Board of Directors for Northwest Net. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Gus Christo-Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is First United Methodist Church or Bethel United Methodist Church.
