Juanita Black

CONVOY, Ohio - Juanita E. Black, 88, of Convoy, died at 1:28 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert, Ohio.

She was born April 16, 1922, in Van Wert County, Ohio, to the late Annetta E. (Upp) Baer and Glen Baer.

Survivors include a special friend: Rosemary Krick; children: Gary (Sharyn) Black of Convoy, Larry (Nancy) Black of Middle Point, Ohio, David (Candice) Black of Convoy and Tonya Black of Gallatin, Tenn.; three brothers: Donald "Murf" (Judy) Baer of Convoy, Robert "Jake" Baer of Van Wert and Charles (Linda) Baer of Convoy; four sisters: Betty (Mike) Wyandt and Bonnie Speelman, both of Van Wert, NaDonna (Ralph) Schumm of Bluffton, Ind., and Jeannette Smith of Bronson, Mich.; her grandchildren: Greg, Jayson, Craig and Kevin Black; Danielle and Brandie Huston; Madelyn Black, and great-grandchildren: Lyvia, Lauryn, and Allyson Black; Carly and Ryan Black; Alex, Lauren, and Katelyn Black.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Carl and Walter "Bud" Baer, two sisters, Glendora Baer and Anna Kathryn Rase, and a half sister, Vera Nortley.

She retired from the Aeroquip Corp. in Van Wert in 1992 after 28 years of service.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at Gearhart, Mack & Jurczyk Funeral Home, Convoy. The Rev. Will Haggis will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point. Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27 at the funeral home in Convoy.

Preferred memorial is Convoy Fire & EMS or Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
