VAN WERT, Ohio - Julia Rose Mullen, 86, of Van Wert, formerly of Defiance, Ohio, died at 3:18 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2011, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born April 27, 1924, in Monroeville, Ind., to the late Marie (Davis) Van Horn and Harold Van Horn. On Dec. 7, 1944, she married George Pangle and he died in 1952. Then, on June 9, 1955, she married Clarence Mullen and he died on Aug. 28, 1964.
Survivors include her children: James Pangle and Lucille (Tony) Grieshaber, both of Van Wert, Christina Molinary of Richmond, Va., and Nancy (Marvin) Gray of Latty, Ohio; her brothers: Clyde Linder of Decatur, Ind., Donald Linder and Paul Linder, both of Berne, Ind.; her sisters: Mary Brunner and Mary Ellen Duce, both of Decatur, and Donna Rose Comet of Van Wert; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother: James Van Horn, Sr., and two grandchildren.
She was a member of Van Wert Victory Church, Van Wert. She had formerly worked at Brookside Restaurant, Van Wert.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 13 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, March 12 at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Van Wert Senior Center.
