Kathy Lane Variell, 64,, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at her home. A proud resident of Middle Point, Ohio, she lived a life full of love and resilience, marked by both challenges and joys. She was born on November 8th, 1960, in Greenwich, OH, to the late Ray and Shirley (Klinger) Trammell.
Raised in the comforting embrace of the First Presbyterian Church of Middle Point, Kathy graduated from Lincolnview High School in 1979-a place where she formed lifelong friendships. On February 27, 1982, she married her soulmate, Bryan Wayne, who sadly passed just a month before her. The bond they shared was a testament to enduring love and partnership.
Kathy was known for her resilience, even in the face of adversity. Having bravely battled multiple sclerosis for many years, she refused to let it define her. She found joy in simple pleasures, including her time spent at the shooting range with her .Those who knew her well would often smile and say she could be a "pain-in-the-ass" at times, but that was just part of her undeniable charm and strong spirit.
Kathy is survived by her three children: Samantha (Devin) Webster of South Carolina, Breann Johnson and Joshua Variell, both of Middle Point; her siblings: Diana Trammell of Middle Point, Pamela (Rick) Slone of Antwerp; Steve (Rona) Trammell of Rockford; grandchildren: Daphne Johnson and Konnor Klaus, of Middle Point; Kingley and Bantley Webster of South Carolina; as well as niece, Natasha (Aaron) Collins of Van Wert and nephew, Levi (Kyleigh) Ringwald of Van Wert.
In honoring both Kathy's and Bryan's lives, family and friends will be invited to join the immediate family in the Spring for a memorial gathering as they celebrate their journey. Further details regarding the date and time will be shared when scheduled.
Kathy's legacy of love, strength, and determination will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love of her family and the memories of a life well-lived.
