Kellie Jo May was received into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 15, 2014 at 2:20 a.m. at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born on January 14, 1974 in Van Wert, Ohio, to Cynthia K. (Lewis) and Bradley D. Dickson. She adored her only son, Ian Daniel May of Mobile, Alabama.
Other survivors include: two sisters, Lisa (Demond) Johnson of Van Wert and Andrea (Dedrick) Johnson of Wilmington, Delaware; Maternal grandmother Mary Wilkolek and Paternal grandmother Mary (Jim) Bohnsack both of Toledo, Ohio.
Kellie was a 1992 graduate of Van Wert High School and a 1996 graduate of Mobile College. She was a teacher at Indian Springs Elementary School in Mobile, Alabama where she loved her third and fifth grade students. She was recently a teacher's aide at First United Methodist Preschool.
Kellie was the proud aunt of her nieces and nephews: Michaella, Dru, Macy, Meah, and Dakari. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, creating paper crafts, reading, and watching Disney movies.
She was preceded in death by her aunt and Godmother Karen Rick, Paternal grandfather Doyt Dickson, Niece Olivia Jo Johnson, maternal grandfathers John Wilkolek, and Raymond Lewis Sr.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Van Wert and was a faithful disciple of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014 at First United Methodist Church, Van Wert, Ohio with Rev. Gus Christo-Baker and Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert, Ohio. Friends and family may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday September 17, 2014 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory. Also, one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
Preferred memorials may be directed to Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center or to Kellie's 13 year-old son, Ian Daniel May.
