Kelly Wendel

Kelly Sue Wendel, 47, of Celina, Ohio, died at 8:15 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at her home. She was born on March 17, 1966 in Troy, Ohio, the daughter of Bill and Virginia (Sutton) Wright. She married Larry Kremer in August, 1988, and he preceded in death, April, 1999. She then married Jerry L. Wendel on September 27, 2008, and he survives in Celina, Ohio. She was a Certified Personal Assistant at the Laurels of Shane Hill in the Assisted Living area, and for many years, had been a waitress at the former Betty's Restaurant in Coldwater, Ohio. She lived the majority of her life in Mercer County, and was a graduate of Celina High School. She had been involved with horses all her life, and competed in showmanship and barrel racing. She was involved with the Cancer Association of Mercer County and participated in Hope Fest activities. Surviving in addition to her husband, Jerry, is one son, Andy (Theresa) Kremer, of Coldwater, Ohio; two stepsons, Steve and Corey Kremer, of Celina, Ohio; two brothers, David (Louanna) Gwinn, of Greenville, Ohio, and Scott (Teresa) Wright, of Sidney, Ohio;three sisters, Lynn Nye, of Dayton, Ohio, Mary Jo Sharer, of Texas, and Karen Wright, of California; and two grandchildren, Mackenzie and Christopher. Deceased is one sister, Kathy Boyer. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Steve Savage officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's United Church of Christ Cemetery, Rockford. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 p.m., and on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
