VAN WERT, Ohio - Kenneth Al Sealscott, 85, of Van Wert, died at 12:55 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at Vancrest of Delphos.
He was born Jan. 24, 1927, in Hoaglin Township of Van Wert County, to the late Nellie (Morris) Sealscott and Samuel P. Sealscott. His wife, Miriam N. (Billieu) Sealscott, died July 8, 2011. They were married Dec. 31, 1947.
Survivors include his children: Louise (Jeff) Laudick of Delphos, Ohio, and Miles Sealscott of Van Wert; a brother-in-law: Walter Billieu of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister in law: Virginia Sealscott of Van Wert; five grandchildren: Kim (Scott) Schwinnen, Brian (Tina) Laudick, Dustin (Beth) Laudick, Amy McNabb and Sam (Nesha) Sealscott, and his great grandchildren: Caleb & Kenzie Schwinnen; Kaden Laudick; Brady Fisher; Abby Lopshire; Hannah & Haley Dickson; Silas and Slade Sealscott.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Doyle Sealscott.
He was a lifetime farmer in Hoaglin Township and had also worked at the Continental Can Co. in Van Wert, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Van Wert, a former Hoaglin Township clerk serving for eight years, former member of the Van Wert Kiwanis Club, had been a volunteer with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, was an avid bicyclist and had participated in several GOBA trips.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City, Ohio.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at the funeral home.
