VAN WERT a�" Kenneth L. "Skip" Smith, Jr., 86, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013 at 7:29 p.m. at Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born on June 10, 1927 in Cedar Grove, West Virginia to Kenneth L. "K.L." and Arlie (Morris) Smith. They are both deceased.
His wife, Marvin "Marv" (Wood) Smith, survives in Van Wert. He is also survived by children: Kenneth L. (Maureen) Smith III of Van Wert, and Pamela Smith of Van Wert; a sister: Betty Jo James of Baltimore, Maryland; grandchildren: Justin (Jennifer) Smith of Lancaster, Ohio, and Melissa (Jonas) Pattie of Auburn, Ohio; and great-grandchildren: Abigael & Hannah Smith and Tristan & Seth Pattie.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Clayborn Smith.
He retired in 1994 from Pretress Services in Decatur, Indiana. He attended First Baptist Church of Van Wert for many years.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
