Larry Francis

VAN WERT, Ohio a�" Larry E. Francis, 69, of Van Wert, died at 9:58 p.m. Feb. 1, 2014, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born July 31, 1944, in Decatur, Ind., to the late Goldie (Baumgartner) Francis and Bernard Wayne Francis.
Survivors include children: Kathy (Jeff) Stachler, Jason (Jessica) Francis, and Bruce Francis, all of Van Wert; brother: James A. Francis of Van Wert; sister: Nancy (Jeff Kantner) Roop of Van Wert, and grandchildren: First Class Airman Kaleb Whitcraft, Taylor Whitcraft, Lydia Francis, Travis Francis, and Hannah Krugh.
He retired from Federal Mogul of Van Wert after 40 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force who served during the Vietnam Conflict, and a member of the Van Wert American Legion. He loved to fish and eat lunch at Pizza Hut. He loved the Ohio State Buckeyes.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home and Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Will Haggis will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point, Ohio. Military graveside service will be conducted by the Van Wert American Legion and the VFW Posts. Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
