VAN WERT, Ohio - Larry D. Jackson, 82, of Van Wert, died at 8:20 p.m. April 2, 2013, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert.
He was born Sept. 26, 1930, in Addison, Mich., to the late Arlene (Potter) Edie and Lewis Jackson.
His wife, Margurite L. "Peg" (Campbell) Jackson, died April 11, 2002.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law: Song Jackson who survives in Radford, Ky.; brother: Gary (Ann) Jackson of Tecumseh, Mich.; sisters: Sandie (Frank) Johnson of Onsted, Mich., Melba (Bob) Martin of Traverse City, Mich., Judy Davis of Grayling, Mich., Janet (Ray) McGrath of Manitou Beach, Mich., and Joanne (Paul) Hammerstrom of Adrian, Mich.; grandchildren: Tiffany Southerland, John Kwascigroh, Jessi Kwascigroh, Josh Kwascigroh, Madeline Jackson, Lewis Jackson, Larissa Jackson, and great-grandchildren: Madison Schwaner, Austin Schwaner, Jayden Southerland, Lily Kwascigroh. Also survived by his faithful pal Lydia his dog.
He was preceded in death by sons: Larry, Mike and Rick Jackson, and daughter: Lori Jackson.
He was a retired truck driver and woodworker. He was affiliated with the First United Methodist Church in Van Wert and was a member of Van Wert American Legion Post, Van Wert.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Paul Miller will officiate. Visitation will be 2-3 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is the American Cancer Society.
