Leigh E. Eisenhauer, Jr., 83, of Van Wert, died at 3:04 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He was born July 23, 1933, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Alice T. (Mason) Eisenhauer and Leigh E. Eisenhauer. His parents preceded him in death.
Two nieces survive as does his beloved cat "Buddy."
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Pender.
He owned and operated Eisenhauer Manufacturing in Van Wert. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert, graduated from the Kentucky Military Institute and from The University of Louisville, was a veteran of the US Air Force, a member of Van Wert Post American Legion, and a lifelong member of the Elks. A former thespian and former member of the Van Wert Civic Theater, Leigh was a big supporter of the arts in Van Wert, was an avid fisherman, loved to play cards, and was an animal lover.
Service will begin at noon Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Hal Shafer will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Visitation is 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Salvation Army of Van Wert, Ohio.
