VAN WERT, Ohio - Leon Jackson, 61, of Van Wert, passed away at 11:35 a.m. Aug. 11, 2011.
He was born Oct. 23, 1949, in Lauderdale, Miss. Mr. Jackson leaves here to mourn his wife, Rosyln Howard Jackson, whom he had known for 35 years; a stepson, Kareem Howard; a brother-in-law, Dwight Howard; a brother, Johnny (Lois) Jackson of Molutie, Ga.; two sisters, Ella Mae Hudson and Bobbi Jean (Willie Mae) Hudson, both of Meridian, Miss.
He was preceded in death by his parents, C.L. and Mary (Naylor) Jackson; grandparents, Alex and Willie Mae Jackson; brothers Barry Naylor and A.C. Jackson; sister, Dorothy Jackson; and sister-in-law, Eliza Jackson.
He has a host of relatives and friends. Leon loved fishing, hunting and playing cards. He will be missed very much. He was employed at the Street Department for the City of Van Wert for over 28 years.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 20 at 11 a.m. at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Mozell Davis will officiate. Friends and family may call from 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20 until service time at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
