Leonard Caulfield, 81, of Van Wert, died at 7:54 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2011, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born August 22, 1930, in Salford, Manchester, England, the son of the late Robert and Sarah (Smith) Caulfield. On January 19, 1952, he married Brenda (Giles) Caulfield, who survives in Van Wert. They would have been married 60 years in January.
Mr. Caulfield retired in 1994 from Teleflex Corporation in Van Wert after more than 30 years of service as a mechanical engineer. He was a veteran of the Royal Air Force in England, an avid woodworker and cabinet maker and loved to travel all over the world.
In addition to his wife, survivors include four children, Neville (Kathy) Caulfield of Northville, Mich., Lesley (Barry) Crone and Gwen (Henry) Prybylski, both of Van Wert, and Gillian (Craig) Koch of St. Marys; a brother, Harold (Eunice) Caulfield of Oakville, Ontario, Canada; eight grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Three brothers and four sisters also preceded him in death.
There will be no funeral services.
