VAN WERT, Ohio - Lillian R. Saam, 81, of Van Wert, died at 9:44 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert.
She was born April 11, 1931, in Van Wert, to the late Grace (Miller) Taylor and Rolo Taylor. Her husband, Carl J. Saam, Sr., died Dec. 26, 2005. They were married April 7, 1962.
Survivors include her children: Lori (Jeff) Rayer of Van Wert and Lisa (Steve) Foley of Angola, Ind., four grandchildren: Luke and Logan Shaffer, Tarin Foley and Wyatt Saam, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son: Carl J. Saam, Jr., her brothers: Clyde, Jim, Ben, Bill, Virgil, Vondale, Ray, Eugene and Welcome Taylor, and sisters: Mable Lee, Ethel Tyas, Betty Routt and Lois Williamson.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul's Reformed Church in America, Van Wert County, Ohio.
Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Evangelical Protestant Cemetery, Van Wert County, Ohio.
Preferred memorial is Van Wert Inpatient Hospice.
