Lucille "Lucy" Youtsey, 95, of Paulding, passed away at 10:48 PM on August 13, 2022 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice. She was born on June 15, 1927, in Bessemer, AL, to the late William and Lucindy (Shoemaker) Griffin. On January 06, 1945, Lucy married the love of her life, Gordon L. Youtsey who preceded her in death. Together, they shared years of memories.
Lucy retired from National Seal in 1991 after 35 years. She was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Ohio City.
She enjoyed playing bingo and visiting the casinos. With a love of traveling, Lucy and Gordon visited every state in the continental United States. In her younger days she enjoyed fishing and recently wished she could do so again.
Lucy tended her own garden and made candy and baked goods for her family at Christmas. She was a wonderful cook who always made sure everyone was well fed and had plenty to eat. Never one to be idle, when Lucy kept busy doing things, so did everyone else.
Family was very important to Lucy, and there was nothing else that she loved to do more than spend time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children: Larry (Nancy) Youtsey of Van Wert; Steven (Julie) Youtsey of Paulding; Marcia Taylor of Paulding; grandchildren: Christopher Youtsey; Michelle Johannas; Nicole (Warren) Holland; Rick Taylor; Gordy (Kim) Youtsey; Brian (Carla) Morris; Travis (Bandy) Youtsey; Travis (Jami) Grimes; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lucy was preceded in death by 3 brothers and one sister.
