Lloyd McMichael

VAN WERT, Ohio - Lloyd L. McMichael, 73, of Van Wert, died at 12:10 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2011, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born Sept. 21, 1937, in Van Wert, to the late Evelyn (Youtzy) McMichael and Winfred McMichael. His wife, Waltraud (Debatin) McMichael, survives. The couple was married July 10, 1969.
Other survivors include his children: Lloyd (Tonda) McMichael, Frank L. (Crystal) McMichael, Sterling McMichael, Robert R. (Dana) Debatin and Sandra B. (Larry) Parker, all of Van Wert; a sister: Alice Thor of Van Wert; 18 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
He retired from the US Army after 21 years of service and was a member of the Van Wert American Legion Post.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2011, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert. Military graveside service will be conducted by the Van Wert American Legion and VFW Posts.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
