VAN WERT, Ohio - Lola Maye Pierce, 81, of Van Wert, died at 10:50 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Lima Memorial Hospital, Lima, Ohio.
She was born Sept. 10, 1931, in Hoaglin Township, Van Wert County, Ohio, to the late Nora (Barker) Frey and Walter Frey.
Her husband, George M. Pierce, survives in Van Wert.
Other survivors include children: Michael (Cindy) Pierce of Quincy, Mich., and Mark K. (Dawn) Pierce of Van Wert; brother: William E. (Rae) Frey of Van Wert; grandchildren: A. Shane (Jessica) Pierce, Austin E. Pierce, Joesy Maye Pierce, Matt Cox and Michael Cox; great-grandchildren: Cailey N. Pierce, Tiffany A. Pierce, Levi Storm Pierce, Wesley and Jaden Wagner, and great-great-granddaughter: Jersey R. Pierce.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Frederick Frey.
She retired from Tecumseh Packaging Solutions, Van Wert, after 22 years. She was a former avid bowler and golfer, a former member of Eastern Star, and a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Van Wert American Legion Post 178.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Paul W. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert. Visitation will be held at 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, at funeral home.
